If you would like to learn Reiki there are a few things that you need to look for when choosing a course and teacher. The first and most important thing is lineage. A lineage is a line that can be traced from your teacher to the founder of the system, Mikao Usui. A lineage must always trace back to Mikao Usui for it to be the system of Reiki, either Eastern or Western. Once you have attended a Reiki course and have been attuned to Reiki you will add your name to your teacher's lineage. This will become your lineage. Jason and I both have a lineage for the Eastern and Western branches of Reiki.

When looking for a course make sure that:
- the teacher's lineage can be traced back to Mikao Usui
- there are three major levels
- the teacher requires the student to develop energetically between each level
- the teacher offers ongoing support and the opportunity to update knowledge and experience through regular Reiki shares and retreats
- the teacher is open about all costs that are to be paid by a student for all levels
When looking for a teacher take into consideration the teacher's:
- lineage
- personal spiritual journey
- support for their student's personal development through providing one to one contact where necessary
- claims being realistic and verifiable rather than ego orientated
- respect for past and present students
- Code of Ethics and Code of Practice
- ability to inspire you
Ask if you can meet with a teacher before you make a decision about whether to train with them. By meeting them before the course you can decide if there is a connection with that person.
The training we provide can be tailored to suit your needs so you can learn with a group or on a one to one basis.
Once you have looked at the suggested considerations trust your own intuition. If you feel good about the person you have chosen then go for it. If you are uncertain then take you time, there is no rush. Just know what is it you are looking for and the right course and teacher will appear.
